Methuen’s Top Dog is a five-year-old Border Collie mix named Cammi.

Cammi is the winner of the second annual Methuen Top Dog Contest. City Clerk Anne Drouin last week released the winners, given to residents who license or relicense their dogs for a chance to be Methuen’s 2025 Top Dog and get a free 2025 dog license.

“Cammi is the best support system and has been through it all with her owner since COVID-19. Cammi is very loyal and protective of her ‘pack,’ which includes family and friends. Her favorite things to do are playing with her brothers, Cooper and Max, as well as napping in the sun,” says her mom, Ariana Lee Ellsey.

“Cammi is the true definition of a ‘soul dog,’ and is simply one-of-a-kind,” adds Ellsey, who is a Methuen High Alumni and fourth grade educator at the Comprehensive Grammar School in Methuen. She will also graduate this May from Northeastern’s Education Doctorate Program.

Drouin said second place went to Molly, owned by Shirley Winward; third place to Rudy, owned by Michael Hamilton; and honorable mention to Finley owned by Nancy Marcoux.
