Northern Essex Community College is getting ready for its fourth annual Giving Day April 3.
The college’s Giving Day is a 24-hour fundraising effort that aims to unite alumni, friends, staff, faculty and students toward a common goal: supporting the college and its students. In addition to encouraging support for the college’s annual fund, Giving Day celebrates healthy camaraderie and competition through a variety of themed challenges, prizes and more.
Donors who contribute $50 or more will be eligible to receive a special prize. Those on campus can take advantage of for giveaways at tables set up in the Dimitry Building on the Lawrence Campus and the Student Center and Spurk buildings on the Haverhill Campus.
All money raised goes to the NECC Fund, which provides support to the college’s areas of greatest need. Gifts to the fund are unrestricted, meaning they can be spent immediately and benefit a range of resources and programs that are crucial to the success of students, faculty and staff. Historically, the NECC Fund has offered substantial support in such areas as student scholarship, innovation, academic programming, career programming and classroom resources.
Giving Day takes place each year on the first Thursday in April—about the time more than 60 years ago that students could first register for classes at the newly formed Northern Essex Community College. Northern Essex Community College held its inaugural Giving Day in April of 2022 and, in just under 24 hours, collectively raised over $34,000 from more than 200 donors. The inaugural Giving Day was the largest single-day fundraising effort in the college’s annual giving history.
There’s more on the Giving Day webpage where gifts may be donated any time. Others may call 978-556-3806 or email [email protected] to make other arrangements.
