Former Haverhill City Clerk Linda L. Koutoulas was recently elected to the board of directors of the Duston-Dustin Garrison House Association.
Koutoulas of Haverhill worked 10 years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives before joining Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s administration in 2007. She went on to serve as city clerk from 2014 to 2022 when she retired and continues to serve as a city license commissioner.
Upon graduating Methuen High School, Koutoulas received her bachelor’s from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She is currently a member of the Trustees of the John Greenleaf Whittier Homestead and serves on the boards of the Friends of Haverhill Public Library and the Haverhill Garden Club and as a member of the Rotary Club of Haverhill.
One of Haverhill’s eight “cultural treasures,” the Association says, the 1697 Duston Garrison House was completed by Thomas Duston in 1697. After a fire, it was reacquired by the Duston-Dustin Family Association in 1945 when it was refurbished and listed on the National Register of Historic Places through the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
Koutoulas is filling the seat vacated by Ronald Dustin of Maryland.
Besides Koutoulas, the Duston Garrison House Association board includes President Josiah E. Morrow, Vice President Jon Dustin, Clerk David Jellison and directors Peter G. Dustin, Maureen Ferris, Craig Richardson, Harry L. Gray III and David A. Dustin.
