Two people were injured with, what were described as, non-life-threatening injuries following a rollover crash Friday morning in Groveland.
Police Chief Jeffrey T. Gillen and Fire Chief Robert Valentine said in a statement the Groveland Police and Fire Departments were sent to a rollover crash that required one person to be removed with a hydraulic cutting tool.
The call came just before 9 a.m., and Groveland Police and Fire were dispatched to the area of 7 Wood St. for reports of a truck that crashed into the woods and rolled over. Groveland Police Detective Danielle Burrill arrived to find a Chevrolet truck rolled over about 100 feet off of the road in the wooded area with two people trapped inside.
Burrill was able to remove the driver from the truck and crews from Groveland Fire used tools to remove the passenger. Both were taken to Lawrence General Hospital for treatment. While the crash is still under investigation, officials said, the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the accident.
Georgetown Fire provided mutual aid on-scene, assisting in extricating the passenger, providing medical care to occupants and clearing the truck.
