Groveland Police and Fire host their annual food and sock drive this weekend.

Police Chief Jeffrey T. Gillen and Fire Chief Robert Valentine said food benefits the Sacred Hearts Food Bank and the Groveland Council on Aging Food Pantry. New, unworn socks help benefit the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center in Haverhill.

The departments are accepting canned and non-perishable food items and Market Basket gift cards. Non-perishable items that can be donated to the food bank include, but are not limited to, canned fruit, canned vegetables, soups, baked beans, boxed stuffing mix, boxed potatoes and yams, dry cereal, peanut butter, jelly and jams, dried pasta and pasta sauce.

The drive takes place Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Groveland Public Safety Building, 181 Main St.

The Groveland Council on Aging Food Pantry, 183 Main St, is open Wednesdays, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
