Woman Suffers ‘Serious Injuries’ After Horse Riding Accident Thursday in West Newbury

A 34-year-old woman suffered, what were described as, “serious injuries late Thursday morning after being thrown from a horse in West Newbury.

West Newbury Police and Fire Chief Michael Dwyer said West Newbury Police and Fire Departments and Atlantic Ambulance were dispatched at about 11:11 a.m., to Indian Meadow Farm Boarding and Training Center, 168 Garden St.

First responders found the as-yet unnamed woman was suffering serious injuries. She was first treated on scene and then taken to Cammett Park, where she was flown by Boston MedFlight to a regional trauma center.

Groveland Fire Department provided mutual aid at the landing zone.
