An adult man and two juveniles are being treated for gunshot wounds and two guns were also found after an early morning shooting in Methuen.
Methuen Police Chief Scott J. McNamara said in a release, officers were dispatched just after 1 a.m., to the area of Boston Street for reports of shots fired and multiple injuries.
“Upon arrival, officers located one adult male and one juvenile suffering from gunshot wounds. A suspect was reported to have fled the scene,” the statement said. Both were taken to an area hospital, while a second juvenile that police said is “believed to be involved—who was not on scene when police arrived— went to the hospital on his own accord for treatment of his injuries.” Police said another person believed to be involved is still being sought.
McNamara said one gun was found in the area of Swan Street, while another was found at a Boston Street home after police received a search warrant to enter the property. K-9 units from both Massachusetts State Police and Methuen Police also responded.
Methuen Police received assistance from Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and the Lawrence, North Andover and Andover Police Departments.
An investigation continues.
