Drivers are advised that some lanes and shoulders along Interstate 495 will close from time to time today through Friday on both the northbound and southbound sides in Amesbury, Haverhill and Merrimac.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said the “intermittent lane and shoulder closures” take place Wednesday, Sept. 4, through Friday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., each day.
Work consists primarily of shoulder repairs under a districtwide drainage repair contract.
Signs and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work areas. Officials say drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution. Work is weather dependent and subject to change.
