A 25-year-old woman was airlifted Sunday night to a Boston hospital after she suffered, what first responders called, “serious traumatic injuries” after apparently striking a parked car while riding an electric bike.
Groveland Fire Chief Robert Valentine and Police Chief Jeffrey T. Gillen said rescuers were dispatched to Main Street Sunday, shortly after 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police officers and firefighters found the unnamed woman. Passersby called 911 for assistance.
They said no one was inside the parked car at the time and no one else was injured.
Pridestar Trinity EMS came with an advanced life support ambulance. Due to the severity of the woman’s injuries, a critical care medical helicopter was requested from Boston MedFlight. She was taken by ambulance to the Pines Recreation Area nearby on Main Street where a landing zone was established and staffed by additional Groveland firefighters and police officers. Officials said she was flown to Boston Medical Center with serious injuries.
