Haverhill Boys & Girls Club, Methuen Arlington Neighborhood Offer Summer Nights Program

Haverhill and Methuen groups are participating in the state’s Summer Nights program, providing recreational program geared to urban young people ages 13-21.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill offers free Summer Teen Nights, Monday through Friday, from 4-8 p.m., at 55 Emerson St., Haverhill. Methuen Arlington Neighborhood hosts organized sports and games including basketball drills, field trips, yoga and karate classes, summer reading, strategic games, arts and crafts for children 7 and up, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Tenney Street Park, 141 Tenney St., Methuen.

The state Department of Conservation and Recreation is celebrating 10 years of the Summer Nights program, running locally through Aug. 23, and partnering with 100 organizations at approximately 125 locations statewide.

Programs by Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill include open gym and Fun Fridays featuring Pie and Wing Eating Contest, Bingo and field trips. Methuen Arlington Neighborhood also plans summer basketball leagues Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5-8 p.m. It also offers breakfast and lunch daily.
