Haverhill to Celebrate Pride Month with City Hall Ceremony and Reception June 13

Haverhill plans to celebrates Pride Month June 13 with its annual flag raising ceremony and reception.

The LGBTQIA Pride Month celebration takes place Thursday, June 13, 4 p.m., on the front steps of Haverhill City Hall. Haverhill City Council President Thomas J. Sullivan will serve as master of ceremonies, Mayor Melinda E. Barrett is expected to read a proclamation and Rev. Donna Spencer Collins will offer a blessing. They will be joined by Rep. Andy X. Vargas and other local elected officials and guests who will speak during a brief recognition ceremony

Following the program, the public is invited to a reception between 4:30 and 7 p.m., at Time Out Sports Bar, 122 Washington St., Haverhill, sponsored by Pentucket Bank.

The event observes a tradition commemorating the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City.
