Emmaus, which provides housing and services to homeless adults and families, is having is “Sip, Sample & Support” annual fundraiser next week.

This year Emmaus is putting a “twist” on the event with a culinary tour of Europe.  Sips will be from several European countries—France, Italy, Greece and Germany, and samples include food pairings from those countries.

“Think ‘Beer and Brats’ from Germany and ‘Colosi Nero d’Avola and Gnocchi’ from Italy,” said Development Manager Margot Regan.  “And, our friends at Cedar’s will be supplying their amazing products to complement our Greece pairing station,” she added.

For the second year in a row, guests may optionally vote for the “Best Cocktail in Haverhill” during the cocktail hour tasting contest. For an additional fee, guests may sample craft cocktail sips from several of Haverhill’s best restaurants, including Stacks, G’s, Essex Street Grille, Casa Blanca and Bradford Country Club.

Katherine Underwood again serves as mistress of ceremonies and Haverhill City Council President Timothy J. Jordan serves as the night’s auctioneer and WMUR’s. Auction items include a Tuscany Culinary Escape, a Celtics basketball autographed by members of the 2022-2023 team, Bruce Springsteen tickets and Walt Disney World Park passes and a week’s stay in a condo near the resort. A related online auction takes place May 11-19.

“Sip, Sample & Support, An Affair to Benefit Emmaus,” takes place Thursday, May 18, beginning at 5:30 p.m., at Bradford Country Club, 201 Chadwick Road, Haverhill. Tickets and online auction may be found here.
