Haverhill’s Gale Park’s Christmas tree lighting, visit by Santa and other festivities planned for tonight, have been postponed until Monday night because of predictions of rain..

The 23rd annual tree lighting is now planned for Monday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m.

Gale Park Association’s Kathy Fitts told WHAV recently the lighting is “just spectacular because we wrap trees down low and the city comes with its cherry picker and helps us get lights high up in the trees.”

The rescheduled event will still be accompanied by hot cocoa with whipped cream, cookies, crafts for the kids, music, display of the reproduction Haverhill Christmas bell and Santa.

Gale Park is at Kenoza Avenue and Mill Street in Haverhill.
