Veterans North East Outreach Center was the largest beneficiary, receiving $5,000 from the grant pool, largely generated by Rotary Club’s signature event—its annual Veterans Day Breakfast.

Scott Forbes, executive director, of Veterans North East Outreach Center was on hand to accept the grant, presented by Rotary Club President Timothy J. Jordan. Other recipients included Boys & Girls Club of Greater Haverhill, Community Action, Creative Haverhill, Emmaus, Gale Park Association, Liz Murphy Open Hand Pantry, Ruth’s House, Saint Vincent De Paul Sacred Hearts Food Pantry, Team Haverhill, YMCA of the North Shore and YWCA Northeastern Massachusetts.

Last November’s Sixth Annual Veteran’s Day Awards program honored U.S. Marine Corps veteran and former Haverhill City Councilor Michael J. Hart, Army Reserve Sgt. And Haverhill Police Patrolman Christina Rodriguez, Army Reserve Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran Chris Seferlis and U.S. Air Force Reserves Nurse Corps veteran Kristin Messer.

Haverhill Rotary’s Seventh Annual Veteran’s Day Awards program takes place in person this November.
