Gregory DiBurro, Former Owner of Pat’s Beef House, Dies at 72

Gregory J. DiBurro, 72, longtime owner of Pat’s Beef House in Haverhill died Friday, Aug. 19, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington.

DiBurro, of Newton, N.H., was born in Haverhill Dec. 29, 1949, son of the late Pasquale J. and Emily (Kokinos) DiBurro. He was educated in the Haverhill school system and was a graduate of Haverhill High School. He went on to serve in the Army Reserves for six years during the Vietnam Era.

He loved to serve his community and was on the board of directors of both the Haverhill Boys and Girls Club and the Haverhill Rotary Club. As a Rotarian, he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He catered thousands of weddings, banquets, celebrations and mercy meals as owner of what became Pat’s Function Halls on Alpha Street in Haverhill, supporting the community in times of both joy and sorrow.

In retirement, he finally got to fully enjoy the Lakes Region of Maine year-round, where he spent every summer from the time he was a small boy, fishing every chance he got. He most enjoyed his time in Maine with his friends and family, whether it be fishing, snowmobiling or just sitting around the campfire sharing laughs.

DiBurro is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Kathleen A. (Lalumiere) DiBurro, daughter, Kristen L. DiBurro, of Newton, N.H., and son James G. DiBurro and wife Elizabeth of Londonderry, N.H. He also leaves behind a sister Susan M. Coppola of Bartlett, N.H. He was the loving grandfather of Andrew J. and Ryan M. DiBurro.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Aug. 24 at noon in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Bradford. Interment follows in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Arrangements are by the H. L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes, Bradford and Haverhill.
