I-495 Construction Update: Contractor Preps River Street Exit-Only Lane

Last week saw the openings of additional northbound lanes along Interstate 495 bridges in Haverhill with a dedicated River Street exit lane being prepped for use.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reports day and night lane and ramp closings this week to accommodate paving and installation of sign foundations, guardrails and pavement markings, drainage casting adjustments and granite edging, among other tasks.

During the day, a single right lane closes on I-495 northbound between exits 106, Ward Hill, and 107, River Street, Wednesday, June 1, through Friday, June 3, from 6 a.m.-2- p.m., each day.

At night, there are double left lane closings in the same area Tuesday, May 31, through Thursday, June 2, from 10 p.m.-5 a.m., and double right lane closings Friday, June 3, from 10 p.m.-5 a.m., the Saturday.

On the southbound side, there will be a double left lane closing between the same exits Tuesday, May 31, through Friday, June 3, from 10 p.m., each night, to 5 a.m., the following mornings.

The exit 106 and 107 on-ramps to I-495 north will be closed Friday, June 3, from 10 p.m.- 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured.
