A 26-year-old Lawrence man is dead after his vehicle rolled over this morning on Route 213 in Methuen.
Raul Arias, the sole occupant of a 2003 Jeep Liberty, was found by State Police troopers suffering from serious injuries at 5:40 a.m. Troopers assigned to the Andover barracks were dispatched after receiving reports of a the crash on Route 213 westbound prior to Interstate 93 in Methuen.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Jeep collided with a guardrail to the left side of the roadway before rolling over. Police said no other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash. Arias died at the scene.
State Police were assisted by Methuen Police, Methuen Fire and EMS, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
Lanes were closed until about 7:45 a.m. This crash remains under investigation by members of Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
