Today’s Obituaries: Kathleen ‘Kat’ Roy, 62, Automobile Crash Victim

Kathleen A. “Kat” (Hickey) Roy, 62, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Dec. 5 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington from injuries incurred due to an automobile accident at Main Street and Smiley Avenue in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Francis D. Hickey Sr. and the late, Marie Annette (Dionne) Hickey. She attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 1977.

Roy was primarily employed in the health care field most of her career as a certified nurse assistant. She was employed at local hospitals, local nursing homes and private homes. In between stints at local health facilities, she worked at Angelo the Florist and the Village Square Restaurant. Roy was a vivacious, loving woman, with a huge heart and no filter. To know her was to love her. She will be missed dearly by friends and family alike.

She is survived by her father; Francis D. Hickey Sr., of Haverhill; three children, Jocelyn J. (Roy) Sheehan and her husband, Eric, of Haverhill, Mark A. St. Onge, of Haverhill and Katelyn Garriety, of Biddeford, Maine; five grandchildren, Ethan Reynolds, Elliott Reynolds, Aria Grace St. Onge, Liam Gonzalez, and Madirose Gonzalez; brother F. Daniel Hickey Jr. of Haverhill; sister Jean M. Benjamin and her husband Jason, of Merrimac; and nephews, nieces and cousins.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday evening from 4-7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home 486 Main St. Haverhill. Her funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 11 in the funeral home.
