Cornhole bags will be flying by the hundreds when the Merrimack River Watershed Council holds its first annual Save Our River festival.

The festival, co-sponsored by NBPT Cornhole, takes place Saturday, Sept. 18, beginning at noon at the Newburyport Elks Lodge outdoor pavilion, 25 Low St., Newburyport. It features a cornhole tournament, open to all ages and all ability levels. The tourney will be split into two categories—a competitive tournament and beginners’ tournament.

The family friendly festival for all ages will also feature a BBQ, a cash bar, live music, an art show, games, informational tables and speakers, raffles and more. There is a limited number of slots available for cornhole players. To register, click on the registration link here.

Entry into the cornhole tournament is $60 per two-person team. For those who do not wish to play is $10 per person, with children 12 and under free. There is a rain date of Sunday, Sept. 19.
