I-495 Construction Update: Intermittent Overnight Lane and Ramp Closings This Week

There will be intermittent overnight lane and ramp closings on I-495 southbound this week in Haverhill as part of the Haverhill I-495 Bridge Replacement Project.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation reports work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 7, and conclude Friday, Sept. 10.

Double right lanes close on I-495 southbound between exits 108, Broadway, and 106, Ward Hill, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly. The lane closings are necessary to allow concrete trucks to safely enter and exit the work zone during the placement of the concrete bridge deck.

The exit 108 on-ramp from Route 97, Broadway, to I-495 south, will also be closed from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. to allow the contractor to install light pole foundations and conduit. Affected traffic will be detoured to exit 109B, Route 125, to the on-ramp to I-495 south.

The exit 107 off-ramp from I-495 south to Route 110/113, River Street, will be closed during the same hours to allow the contractor to install light pole foundations and conduit. Affected traffic will be detoured to Ward Hill and directed north on I-495 to exit 107 for Route 110/113.
