There will be daytime lane closings again on Interstate 495 and Route 97 this week to accommodate construction of the twin bridge replacement project.

There will be a single right lane closing on I-495 south, between exits 108, Route 97, and 106, Ward Hill, Monday, Aug. 9, through Friday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., each day. The closings are needed for roadway widening and paving.

A single right lane will also close on Route 97, Broadway, west over I-495 Monday, Aug. 9, through Friday, Aug. 13, from 7 a.m.-3 p.m., each day, for highway lighting cabinet and conduit installation.

Massachusetts Department of Transportation said it encourages drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to reduce delays. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.

The $102 million project is being undertaken by SPS New England of Salisbury.
