Jean E. Ciccia-Ricker, 64, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Tufts Medical center in Boston, of complications from a sudden cardiac arrest. Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of the late John Alfredo and Vincenza Jenny (Viola) Ciccia.

Jean was raised in Peabody, MA, and was a graduate of the Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, class of 1974.

In 1989, Jean moved to Haverhill, MA and lived in the Riverside neighborhood for over 30 years. She was very active in community arts. Jean performed in over 30 community theater productions with the Neverland Theatre company of Beverly, ranging from Grease to Les Miserables and everything in between. She also acted in several movies that were filmed in Massachusetts. Her favorite experiences were working with Dwayne Johnson on The Game Plan and Adam Sandler on Grown Ups. On many of these theater and film productions, she worked alongside her son, Gabriel.

Jean worked in the bakery at the Riverside Market Basket in Haverhill, where she took pride in writing on cakes. She highly enjoyed her co-workers, and often said that they were like a little family to her. Jean also worked for the Haverhill Life community newspaper in the advertising and distribution departments. Before that, she was a photographer for the Auto Hunter Magazine.

Jean was also active in the Haverhill North congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Everywhere she went, she brought smiles and laughter. She was truly a light to so many lives that she touched.

Jean is survived by her son Gabriel Ciccia-Ricker of Haverhill, as well as many close friends. Gabriel wishes to thank Haverhill Police, Fire, Trinity EMS, Holy Family Hospital Haverhill, Boston Medflight, and Tufts Medical Center for their actions in attempting to save her life, as well as the community for their outpouring of love and support.
