The First Annual Eammon’s Heart Paddle for Prevention is working with Plum Island Kayak for a fundraising Merrimack River journey from downtown Haverhill to downtown Newburyport.

Kayaking takes place Sunday, Sept. 27, beginning at 10 a.m., from the city docks behind the Tap restaurant, 100 Washington St. There are two planned stops at Rocks Village Bridge and Larry’s Marina in Amesbury for refreshments. The trip concludes at Plum Island Kayak—the company donating the kayaks—and Michael’s Harborside in Newburyport. Rides back to Haverhill will be offered.

Eammon’s Heart uses money raised to provide addiction-related programs and teach better coping skills than through the use of substances.
