Update: N.H. Fish and Game Dive Team Recover Body 83-Year-Old Methuen Man who was Canoeing

Update:

The body of an 83-year-old Methuen man, who was reported missing after launching a canoe by himself Friday, was recovered Sunday.

Members of the N.H. Fish and Game dive team located Joseph Moreau’s body in Lake Massabesic in Auburn, N.H. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at Concord Hospital.

New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol said Saturday it was conducting the search after learning Moreau launched himself at Clair’s Landing in the Town of Auburn. Auburn Police and Fire, N.H. Fish and Game, Auburn Watershed Police, N.H. State Police-Troop A and Marine Patrol responded.

The case is under investigation. Anyone who may have information related to the incident is asked to contact Marine Patrol Officer Nicholas Haroutunian at 603-293-2037 or by email at [email protected].
