Haverhill Democrats Name Vargas This Year’s ‘Distinguished Elected Official,’ Honor Three Others

State Rep. Andy X. Vargas will be honored Saturday as the Haverhill Democratic City Committee’s “Distinguished Elected Official” as the group plans a remote meeting of its Annual Roz McKeon Breakfast.

Besides Vargas, the Committee has also named Thomas Grannemann, Margaret Toomey and Josiah Morrow as “Distinguished Democrats” for 2020.

The remote breakfast, which is open to the public, takes place Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. Guests include candidates for U.S. Senate Ed Markey and Joseph Kennedy, along with Congresswoman Lori Trahan and others.

Every “attendee” receives a Breakfast Bag, which includes instructions on  how to participate remotely, a program, gift certificate for Haverhill’s Wicked Big Café, tickets for special gift drawings which will occur throughout the breakfast and instructions on remote voting for the straw poll, as well candidate information and other gifts.
