Although COVID-19 has forced the cancellation of many popular events this year, a New York-based company plans to bring a new, drive-through family event to Haverhill for the upcoming Christmas season.

Bold Media of Holtsville, N.Y, received the okay from the City Council last week to bring a holiday light show to Haverhill beginning Nov. 19 and running through the end of the year. Matthew Glaser, president and CEO of the company, said the show is an uplifting and enjoyable event for the whole family.

“This is kind of a welcome change, I would imagine, for a lot of the residents, and something they can look forward to doing safely with their families. Something like this is going to be a great and welcome tradition for the community, especially in times like today,” he told councilors.

Glaser said the show is a mile long, drive-through light display with sound and music which spectators can listen to through their car radios.

The program is held at several locations throughout the northeast and was a big hit in Marshfield last year, bringing in people from all over the state.

The show, which will take place at Crescent farms, 75 Willow Ave., will also tie in with local charities who will have the opportunity to receive a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales.

Glaser said the cost for a carload of people will be $25 and will run from Nov. 19 through Dec. 31, from 5-9 p.m.
