A new line of t-shirts— featuring a message about veterans defeating COVID-19 or themes for parents or children of veterans—are being offered by Haverhill-based Veterans Northeast Outreach Center.

The t-shirts offer such messages as “Most children never meet their heroes…I was raised by mine” and “When I’m fighting for my country, it’s not a foreign war.” Spokesman John Ford said the messages and graphics will interest the public.

“It’s a way for us to promote the important role veterans play in our society and have fun at the same time,” he said.

Serving the needs of veterans throughout Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, Veterans Northeast offers the t-shirts for sale on a special website in partnership with Northeast Promotion & Apparel.

A portion of the proceeds from sales support veteran services, including basic food and housing, advocacy as an accredited veterans service organization, counseling, peer support, case management, employment and education.

Matthew Olivari, Northeast Promotion & Apparel managing partner, said the line of t-shirts reflects his company’s appreciation of the sacrifices “veterans have made for our country.”

Founded in 1985, Veterans Northeast serves veterans and their families in Essex, Middlesex and Barnstable Counties in Massachusetts and Rockingham and Hillsborough Counties in New Hampshire.
