U.S. Senate candidates Ed Markey and Joe Kennedy are among the expected guests when Haverhill Democrats have their Annual Roz McKeon Breakfast as an online event Saturday, Aug. 22.
Congresswoman Lori Trahan and others plan to address the audience and the Haverhill Democratic City Committee will recognize an elected official and local activist(s) as 2020 “Distinguished Democrats.” There will also be a straw poll for the Sept. 1 U.S. Senate Primary, several other races and ballot issues.
While the event is virtual, breakfast is real. Every “attendee” receives a breakfast bag delivered the week before the breakfast. It includes a special breakfast gift certificate for Haverhill’s Wicked Big Café, instructions for participating remotely, a program, tickets for special gift drawings which take place throughout the breakfast, instructions on remote voting for the Straw Poll, as well candidate information and other gifts.
The virtual event takes place Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. The breakfast is open to the public and tickets are $25.
