Haverhill Police say no injuries were reported, but a home and two cars were damaged after an apparent shooting incident last night on Seventh Avenue.

Captain Stephen J. Doherty Jr. said police received calls reporting “several shots fired” around 9:21. Neighbors reported police closed the street to traffic following the shots.

Doherty said the incident is still under investigation and asked that anyone with information contact Detective Matthew Woodman at 978-373-1212, ext. 1575.

The neighborhood has been the scene of several shootings over the past few years. A year ago, police responded to the area of 53 Cedar St. for a report of shots fired and found an unoccupied parked car that had damage consistent with being struck by a bullet. Police Chief Alan R. DeNaro has told city councilors that victims often refuse to help during investigations.
