Replacement of a natural gas line is expected to disrupt traffic along Oak Street in Methuen for the next three months.

Work begins Monday and continues weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. During the initial phase, officials said, Oak Street will be closed at the intersection of Pleasant Valley Street and at Baremeadow Street. A detour takes drivers along Pleasant Valley Street to Milk Street to Baremeadow Street back to Oak Street. Detour signs will be posted and detail officers will be on scene to assist motorists. Residential access to Oak Street is permitted.

Detours are expected to be reduced after the first month of construction.
