I-495 Construction: Left, Southbound Lane in Haverhill Closes Tuesday-Thursday

As bridge construction continues on I-495 in Haverhill, a single left, southbound lane will close daytimes Tuesday through Friday this coming week.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says the lane will close between exits 49/50 and 48, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., each day, for pier protection barrier work.

To date, three lanes of a new northbound bridge have been completed and are carrying traffic. The new bridges, being constructed at a cost of $102 million, are designed to last 75 years as opposed to the existing bridges built less than 60 years ago.
