Today’s Obituaries—June 24: Dominic ‘Nick’ Tuccolo, Former Haverhill Mayoral Candidate

Dominic “Nick” N. Tuccolo, 67, formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family Saturday, June 20.

He was born in Haverhill on Nov. 12, 1952, son of the late Dominic J. Tuccolo and Mavis A. (Patterson) Tuccolo.

Tuccolo was educated in Haverhill, graduated from Haverhill High School and continued his education at North Shore Community College, Northeastern University and Northern Essex Community College.

He held many positions as the chief of security for the Hale Hospital, deputy sheriff at the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, serving at the Lawrence Jail and the Middleton Jail and House of Corrections. Tuccolo was also the co-owner of the Cardinal and Riverside Restaurants in Haverhill. He was an active member of local politics including a previous candidate for mayor of Haverhill. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and member of the Men’s Choir. Tuccolo enjoyed cooking and held a number of positions in various restaurants in and around Haverhill, as well as owning his own catering companies, The Finishing Touches and Nick & Nunzio’s Kitchen, serving many within the valley.

Tuccolo leaves behind an extensive family including his wife of 36-six years, Elizabeth (Donnelly) Tuccolo, his children, Dominic N. Tuccolo and wife Hannah, Danielle N. (Tuccolo) Sargent and her fiancé Wesley Scott, Richanne Tuccolo, Joshua Tuccolo and wife Maj-Lis. Grandchildren, Kayla, Desirée, Isabella, Alexander, Reyce, Brennan, Kinley, Carter, Ariadne, Jordan, Kelley, Natalie and Nathanial (due in September) and Great-Grandson Parker. Additionally, Nick is survived by his siblings, Daniel Tuccolo, Jeanne Canovitch and husband Craig, Kenneth Tuccolo and wife Linda, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, honorary family members, and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen Hill.

Service arrangements are in the care of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. However, with STRICT adherence to COVID-19 health precautions and social distancing calling hours will be conducted on Thursday, June 25, from 3-8 p.m., at Paul C. Rogers and Sons Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill.
