Haverhill Police are investigating a theft at St. James Church that took place sometime overnight Monday.
Church officials reported just before 10, Tuesday morning, that someone entered the Winter Street building, threw stored clothing about and took what were described as “low value” items, according to Haverhill Police Capt. Stephen J. Doherty Jr.
Doherty said there was no evidence of forced entry and no significant damage except for a broken wooden gate inside.
