Groveland is encouraging residents to vote early and by mail for the annual town election in light of precautions surrounding COVID-19.

Town officials say voting by mail helps protect the health and safety of all voters and election workers. Officials pointed to a new state law that allows both absentee voting and early voting by mail for Monday, June 15, local election as a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis.

The last day and hour to register to vote in the election is Friday, June 5 at 8 p.m. Voter registration can be done online at the secretary of state’s office.

Applications to vote early and by mail are available at grovelandma.com. After being completed they should be mailed to Town Clerk Elizabeth Cunniff, 183 Main St., Groveland, or dropped into the Town Hall drop box. All applications must be received by noon Friday, June 12. Electronic signatures on applications to vote by mail are not accepted.

Those with questions may call Cunniff at 978-556-7221 or email [email protected].
