Today’s Obituaries—April 16: Delaney, Meehan

Francis P. Delaney, 87, died April 14, at Wingate Residences in Haverhill. Born in Lawrence, he was raised and educated in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1951. He received a teaching degree from Lowell Teacher’s College and a master’s degree from Salem State University. Delaney served his country with honor from 1952 until 1956 in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Haverhill in 1961 and was an assistant principal at the Rocks Village School and taught math and science at Dr. Paul Nettle Middle School. Delaney coached football at Haverhill High school and at other high schools in the Merrimack Valley. He was a communicant of St. James Parish in Haverhill as well. Funeral services are private. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

Yvonne M. (Dodier) Meehan, 83, of Haverhill died April 12. Raised and educated in Haverhill schools, she was a member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish. Primarily a homemaker, Meehan was employed in the local shoe industry as a young woman and was an accomplished cook and baker. Arrangements are private.
