Update 4:

The 19-year-old killed last night outside of Haverhill Stadium has been identified as Efrain Indio Maisonet of Haverhill.

Carrie Kimball, spokesperson for Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett, made the announcement shortly after 5 p.m. She also confirmed the stabbing took place at a parking lot near the rear of the stadium.

Eighteen-year-old Oscar Quinones, of 22 Sunrise Drive, Bradford, was charged with murder after police were dispatched at 8:40 p.m., last night, to Haverhill Stadium, 117 Lincoln Ave. Quinones was formally arrested about 4 a.m. by Detective Kevin Portnoy.

Kimball said earlier Maisonet was taken to Holy Family Hospital’s Haverhill campus for treatment of multiple stab wounds. She said he was then med-flighted to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators, according to Kimball, learned Maisonet was at Haverhill Stadium with a group of friends when Quinones “allegedly approached and stabbed the victim and then fled.”  Haverhill Police and the Essex State Police Detective Unit arrested Quinones early this morning and charged him with murder.

Quinones, represented by attorney Jeffrey Miller, is being held without bail by agreement at the Essex County Correctional Facility until tomorrow when he will be arraigned by teleconference at 10:30 a.m.
