A former Methuen resident is being sent back to the Dominican Republic after being sentenced Monday in connection with using a false Social Security number.

Fifty-year-old Francisco Antonio Sanchez Bernabe, who has been in jail since his arrest almost a year ago, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin to time served, one year of supervised release and deportation to the Dominican Republic.

Sanchez Bernabe pleaded guilty last December to a charge of false representation of a Social Security number. U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling’s office said the man presented a false birth certificate and Social Security card on Oct. 25, 2018 while applying for a driver’s license at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.
