Haverhill is now reporting 13 cases total of residents with the coronavirus with one person hospitalized.
The numbers are released daily by Haverhill’s Public Health nurse Mary Connolly. The city’s numbers are part of 177 cases now reported in Essex County by the state Department of Public Health. In total, Massachusetts confirmed cases rose to 1,838 yesterday afternoon with four additional deaths. There have been 15 total deaths statewide.
Across the border, neighboring Rockingham County reports 56 confirmed COVID-19 cases—by far the hardest hit county in the Granite State. The state has 137 cases total and has reported one death.
In other developments:
The Town of Georgetown reported yesterday it has received word of two confirmed virus-related illnesses there. Emergency Management Director and Police Chief Donald C. Cudmore and Town Administrator Michael Farrell said they received word from the state Department of Public Health. The two are members of the same household and are recovering at home.

The Haverhill School Committee still intends to meet tonight at 7, but all members will participate remotely. WHAV plans to air the meeting, beginning at 7 p.m., tonight.
The Haverhill Conservation Commission has postponed its meeting scheduled for tonight. It intends to meet next Thursday, April 2, instead.
