Merrimac Closes Playgrounds, Allows Town Employees to Work from Home

Merrimac Town Hall employees are being allowed to work remotely until further notice. Residents may email employees with questions. The town has also closed all playgrounds until further notice.

The group, Our Neighbor’s Table is partnering with the Pentucket Regional School District to relocate its grocery market to the Sweetsir Elementary School. The market is open the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9-10:30 a.m. Orders must be placed on line by noon on the Friday before. Curbside pickup only takes place at Sweetsir School, 104 Church St. Orders can be placed online at ourneighborstable.org/merrimacorder.html.

Pentucket Regional School District is also working with Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School to provide 100 boxed breakfasts and lunches for any student 18 years and under. Pick-up hours are 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the cafeteria side parking lot at the Pentucket Regional Middle School, 20 Main St., West Newbury, or the front loop of Sweetsir School, 104 Church St. Those unable to pick-up because of illness or transportation issues and in significant need may email Assistant Superintendent Brent Conway at [email protected]. Merrimac Senior Center Meals Program offers delivery only to Merrimac residents. Orders should be placed by 11 a.m. on Thursday for the following week by calling 978-346-9549.

Merrimac Public Library is closed until further notice. Staff is answering telephone calls and assisting with online resources.
