Plaistow, N.H., in conjunction with Atkinson and several other towns, is helping residents safely recycle or dispose of household hazardous wastes, including cleaners, paints and fertilizers, during a collection late next month.

Residents are asked to bring items Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m.-noon, to New Plaistow Recreation Field, 51 Old County Road, Plaistow. Besides residents of Plaistow and Atkinson, citizens of Danville, Kingston, Hampstead and Chester may participate. Proof of residency is required.

Products labeled with such words as caution, toxic, pesticide, combustible, poison, flammable, warning or danger are generally accepted. Residents are asked not to bring latex paint, gas (propane) cylinders, explosive materials, ammunition, radioactive materials, medical wastes, infectious and biological wastes, prescription medicines/syringes, smoke detectors, commercial wastes, fire extinguishers or computer monitors or equipment.
