Haverhill school officials, police and parents were unable to find any evidence Friday that a middle school student created a “hit list” and planned to bring a gun to school today.
Dr. Albert B. Consentino School Principal John Mele and Assistant Principal Richard Poor emailed parents, explaining the situation.
“The school’s administration immediately searched the student’s locker, desk, backpack and other belongings and made contact with the student’s parents. The student denies making any threat and HPD has no evidence that an actual threat existed at this time,” they said.
Despite what appears to be a false alarm, school administrators continue to ask students to “see something, say something” as a precaution.
