Today’s Obituaries—March 2: Blanchet, Dow, O’Hanley

Eveline M. Blanchet, 94, of Sebring, Fla., and formerly of Haverhill, died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 22, at Fairway Pines in Sebring, Fla. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert J. Blanchet. Blanchet was born in Haverhill, April 19, 1925 and has resided in Florida since 1996. She was a member of the Women’s City Club of Haverhill, and  a member of The Auxiliary of The Knights of Columbus – Saint Jude of the Apostle Council. She enjoyed drawing, painting and was gifted with an incredible creative talent that she shared as a member of The Haverhill Arts and Crafts Society. A graveside service takes place in the spring from Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow, N.H. Services are in the care of Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill.

Priscilla Jeanne Dow, 83, passed away Feb. 26 surrounded by family and love ones. She lived her life throughout varied Massachusetts communities but made her home here in Haverhill since the mid-1970s. She was an avid card player and always up for a lengthy game of Rummy with anyone daring to challenge her. She was always up for adventure and was game for trips to the beach, visiting the MSPCA, long rides along the coast and vacationing at Lake Winnisquam, N.H., on weekends in the summer. She relished the chance to sit and have a cup of coffee or a leisurely breakfast with her friends at Heav’nly Donuts in Bradford and Raff’s Café. Visitation is Monday, March 2, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Haverhill, from 10-11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 S. Main St., Haverhill, at noon. Interment will be privately held in Elmwood Cemetery.

Robert D. O’Hanley, 75, of Haverhill and formerly of Groveland, died Feb. 27, at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport. Born in Cambridge, raised in Bradford and Groveland, he attended Haverhill Trade School. He served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corp from 1961 to 1966 and was a decorated marksman and a proud Marine. He retired from the United States Postal Service after working in the Georgetown, Groveland and Haverhill offices.  An active Groveland resident before moving to Haverhill, he served on various boards for the town. He was elected to the Groveland Planning Board 1994 and served until 2016 and elected to the Board of Health, serving between 2006 and 2016. Calling hours are Wednesday, March 4, from 4-7 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services are Thursday morning at 11 in the funeral Home. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Main Street, Groveland.
