Mary M. (Cody) Burwell, 79, of Haverhill, died Sunday morning, Feb. 23, at High Pointe Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was born in Boston, April 4, 1940, daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Ahern) Cody. Educated in the Revere school system, Burwell graduated from revere High School, class of 1958. For more than 26 years she was employed at the former Vernon Plastics as a quality control inspector until her retirement. Calling hours are Friday morning, Feb. 28, from 10-11:45, at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by her funeral service at noon at the funeral home. Burial is in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow, N.H.
John A. Rowell, 51, of Haverhill, husband of Shannon M. (Warren) Rowell, passed away Feb. 21, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill with his family by his side. Raised in Newburyport, he attended Newburyport schools. He moved to Haverhill with his family at the age of 16. Rowell was employed in maintenance and was a property manager for Samia Companies. A funeral service takes place Saturday, Feb. 29, 3 p.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
