Today’s Obituaries—Jan. 29: Paquin, Praiano

Sandra G. (Lang) (Jasper) Paquin, 82, of Plaistow, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, died Jan. 26, at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Born in Haverhill, she was raised in Haverhill and Groveland and graduated from Haverhill High School with the class of 1955. She later graduated from the McIntosh Business College. As the former wife of a U.S. diplomat she was stationed overseas with him during the Vietnam War. She was employed first as the secretary to the principal of the Bagnall School in Groveland, and later as the administrative secretary to the superintendent of the Pentucket Regional School District. At the time of her retirement, she was employed as the secretary of the North Elementary School of Salem, N.H. Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 31, from 10-11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Her funeral begins at 11:15 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover.

Thelma Irene (Hamel) Praiano, 98, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 26, at Baker Katz Nursing Home with family by her side. Born in Haverhill, Aug. 24, 1921, she was a graduate of Haverhill High School, and spent many years working for Rex Potato Chips, and later at Tek Coating until her retirement. A memorial service is Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m., from the Haverhill Church of the Nazarene, 957 Kenoza St., Haverhill. Burial is private. Arrangements are in the care of Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave. Haverhill.
