Haverhill Public Meetings: LePage Wants to Know How Many Downtown Parking Spaces Are Left

The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Councilor Colin F. LePage wants to know how many spaces are actually left in downtown Haverhill garages and parking lots after they were rented to housing developments.

LePage also wants to know the financial solvency of the program, existing and future parking space capacity and boundaries of the district, and the different regulations applied along Merrimack and Washington Streets.

The Council meets Tuesday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m., in the Theodore A. Pelosi Jr. City Council Chambers for its regular meeting.

The Merrimack Valley—MassHire—Workforce Board hears from its Planning/Career Center, Nominating and Youth Committees, among other business, when it meets Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 a.m., at Lawrence General Hospital, Kurth Auditorium, 1 General St., Lawrence.

Haverhill Board of Assessors has its regular meeting to discuss excise, real estate and personal property tax abatements, Tuesday, Jan. 28, 9 a.m., in the Assessors’ office, room 115, Haverhill City Hall, 4 Summer St.

Wednesday, Jan. 29

Water/Wastewater Rating Board reviews abatement requests at a joint meeting taking place Wednesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m., in room 300, of Haverhill City Hall.
