Today’s Obituaries—Jan. 22: Daneau, Kyle

James A. Daneau, 87, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died Jan. 16, at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Newburyport. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served honorably as an Airman until his discharge in September of 1953. Daneau was a leather worker employed locally at Operation Alligator and Clicker City and later at Blue Ribbon Sports in Exeter. He also worked as an apple picker at Woodman’s Orchard in Londonderry and finally as a driver for the Coach Company of Plaistow, N.H. Calling hours are Friday morning, Jan 24, from 10-noon, at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. His funeral service follows at 12:15 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors follows in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Amesbury.

Jane G. Kyle, 83, of Bradford, died Jan. 19, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill surrounded by her family. She attended Haverhill schools, graduating from Haverhill High School, class of 1954 and was a lifetime resident of Bradford. She had a long career as a leather buyer for Allen Shoe Company in Haverhill. After the closing of Allen Shoe, she worked for the City of Haverhill in the tax assessor’s office until her retirement. The funeral service is Thursday, Jan. 23, 11 a.m., at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Burial follows in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Bradford.
