Today’s Obituaries—Jan. 21: Kahigian, Marceddu

Constance L. “Connie” Kahigian, 90, of Haverhill, died Jan. 19, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Markhas J. Kahigian to whom she was married for 56 years. She was a cafeteria worker in Haverhill’s schools and served at Hannah Duston Elementary School, Nettle School and Haverhill High School before retiring after 20 years of service. Kahigian was a longtime and active member of First Baptist Church for 64 years where she was a member of the choir and Mary Martha Ladies Group. The funeral service is Thursday, Jan. 23, 11 a.m., at Dole, Childs and Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:30-11, followed by interment at Linwood Cemetery.

Nello Marceddu, 89, died peacefully Friday night, Jan. 17, at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill. Born in Sardinia, Italy, Marceddu was a lifelong learner who was fond of fishing, gardening, cooking and beating his grandchildren in scrabble.He was an employee of Polaroid. In his younger years, Marceddu was a member of the Alpini: the Alpine special mountain warfare infantry in the Alpine mountain range in Italy. Arrangements by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.
