The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Haverhill Police Department’s Traffic and Safety Committee discusses traffic and safety concerns Wednesday that stem from last year’s placement of a traffic light at a new $5 million complex of five restaurants on Plaistow Road.

Councilor Michael S. McGonagle requested the discussion at the Jan. 7 meeting of the Haverhill City Council. The complex includes Aroma Joe’s, Chipotle, Five Guys, Jimmy K’s and Kobe Buddha House. Under construction on the adjacent former site of Jimmy K’s is Full Harvest Moonz, a marijuana retailer.

The Committee meets Wednesday, Jan. 22, 9:30 a.m., at the Haverhill Police Department, Chief’s Training Room. A variety of other traffic and parking issues also await the committee. They include traffic backups on Route 125 in Bradford; crossing signals at Cedardale; parking on both sides of Klondike Avenue and traffic and stop signs at the intersection of Klondike and Grandview Avenues; discussion of a stop sign at the bottom of Observatory Avenue at Washington Street; traffic and safety issues at the intersections of Park and Webster Streets and Arlington and Webster Streets; safety and road concerns in the area of River Street and Cliffe Avenue; discussion of No Parking signs on a portion of Oakwood Terrace; speeding on Boxford Road; and more.
