Today’s Obituaries—Nov. 26: Favalora, Gariepy, Hefferan, Parry, Rozman

Debra Jean (Donohue) Favalora, 65, of Haverhill, wife of the late James A. Favalora, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, at High Pointe Hospice House with her family by her side. She attended Pentucket Regional High School and was employed as a lab processor at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen for many years. Calling hours are 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

Stephanie L. Gariepy, 37, died Nov. 22, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with her family by her side. She was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 2000. She also attended Seacoast Career School in Manchester, N.H., where she studied to be a dental hygienist. A calling hour takes place from 1-2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service follows in the funeral home at 2 p.m.

Marilyn M. Hefferan, 86, of Atkinson, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, wife of the late Robert Hefferan, died Nov. 24, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill surrounded by her family. Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1951. She was a secretary for 13 years, from 1989 until her retirement in 2010, at St. James Church in Haverhill. She also worked at the former Haverhill Electric Company, where she met her husband in the 1950s. They raised their family in Haverhill until 1966 when they moved to Plaistow, N.H. A graveside service takes place Friday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m., at St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

James Philip Parry, 85, died Nov. 23, at Holy Family Hospital-Haverhill, surrounded by his family. He graduated from Haverhill High School in 1952 and from Chamberlayne Junior College in 1954 with a major in retailing. He was employed by William Filene’s as an assistant department manager in Home Goods at North Shore Shopping Center in Peabody. He was then employed for 35 years at Retail Credit Company (Equifax Services) as an insurance inspector, retiring in 1994. In 1957, Parry joined the U. S. Army Reserves and served for six years. He was a member of the 398th Finance and Disbursement Section and graduated from U.S. Army Finance School in Fort Harrison, Ind. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. Calling hours at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main St., Merrimac, are Sunday Dec. 1, from 4-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Congregational Church, Church Street, Merrimac, followed by burial in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Barbara G. (Cohen) Rozman, 80, of Atkinson, N.H., and formerly of Haverhill, died Monday Nov. 25, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1956, and Boston University in 1960, receiving her bachelor’s and Salem State receiving her master’s in teaching. She taught at Hunking School in Bradford and then Northern Essex Community College, retiring in 2001. Her funeral is Wednesday, Nov. 27, 11 a.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford, MA. Interment follows in Children of Israel Cemetery, Middle Road, Haverhill.
