Buttonwoods 18th Annual Festival of Trees Launches Friday Night; Theme Days to Suit All Tastes

There is a day and night for everyone during Buttonwoods Museum’s 18th annual Festival of Trees through Sunday, Dec. 15.

The first full day takes place Saturday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with a Holiday Gala Celebration, featuring live holiday music and a buffet by local chefs.

On following days, there are special events for veterans and first responders, business people, children, seniors, ladies and educators. There will be comedy performances, presentations of old-time radio shows, children’s scavenger hunts, candlelight tours, a colonial cooking demonstration, music and more. Proceeds benefit the Buttonwoods Museum to be used for maintenance of the three properties, daily operations and education programs. See the full schedule below.

Friday, Nov. 29: 5-8 p.m.

Volunteer/Donor Appreciation Night. Free admission for all volunteers and donors. Family members receive discounted admission. Refreshments and live music from local singer Emily Forisso.

Saturday, Nov. 30: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Festival is open from 10 a.m.-3pm. Doors open for the Holiday Gala Celebration at 6 p.m. The gala features live holiday music and a buffet by local chefs. Cost is $20 each, admission at the door.

Sunday, Dec. 1: 11-5 p.m.

Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Day. Free admission for veterans and first responders! Family members receive discounted admission.

Greater Haverhill Art Association Art Demos: 12-4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 4: 12-8 p.m.

Business Mixer Luncheon, 12-2 p.m. Meet local business people in a relaxed, festive atmosphere and enjoy free food and beverages.

Thursday, Dec. 5: 12-8 p.m.

Children’s Scavenger Hunt All Day.

Holiday Festival Bingo: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Bingo with a holiday twist with prizes.

Friday, Dec. 6: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Senior Day:  $1 Off admission: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Comedy Masque Review: 11 a.m.-noon

Nostalgia Christmas at the Buttonwoods: 12-8 p.m.: Listen to classic radio shows and enjoy coffee/tea and pastry.

Candlelight Buttonwoods Tour: 6-7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 7: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Family Day: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Santa visits from noon-1 p.m.

Holiday Concert: 6-7:30 p.m., featuring local favorite Voices of Hope. Singer Emily Forisso opens the show.

Sunday, Dec. 8: 11-5 p.m.

Greater Haverhill Art Association Art Demos: 12-4:30 p.m. Gospel Readings and Christmas Concert: 2-4:30 p.m. Local church choirs perform your favorite religious Christmas songs.

Wednesday, Dec.11: 12-8 p.m.

Ladies and Educators Night: 5-8 p.m. Ladies and educators pay only $5 each. Enjoy shopping from local vendors and crafters plus refreshments.

Thursday, Dec. 12: 12-8 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 15: 11-5 p.m. (Final Day)

Greater Haverhill Art Association Art Demos: 12-4:30 p.m. Raffle and silent auction winners notified after 6 p.m.

Except as indicated, adult admission is $7 each; seniors (65+), $5 each; ages 6-17, $3 each; and ages 5 and under are free. For group (10 or more) rates, email [email protected].

The Festival is closed Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 9-10. Raffle and silent auction winners will be notified Sunday night, Dec.15.
